Graduation Grad Trip 2013 day 3! :D

Hello peoples! :D
Today was another epic day in Japan!

I awoke today at 8:00, and then slept in until 8:12, showered, and met with the guys in the other room.

[Me in the morning]

Actually, sleeping last night was weird because halfway through the night I awoke and found that I was back to back with Victor and that most of the blanket we were sharing had slipped over to his side in the night.
I knew it wasn't his fault, and I didn't yiew to wake him, so I ended up squeezing in and wrapping my right leg around the blanket that I had XD
It wasn't bad :)
The blanket was probably too hot anyway lol ;)

Anyway, after I went over to talk with the other guys we decided on where we wanted to go for the day, after consulting our guidebook (as seen below).

We went out and began walking towards the Tokyo mtr lines and stopped at a burger joint for breakfast.
(Yah weird huh? lol)

[Above: My meal, a burger with egg and lettuce and some sort of sauce, fries, and a 'orange' soda drink]

It was awkward ordering because I couldn't read the menu and the lady had to help me... o.o lol
But luckily the food was delicious! :D
If unhealthy and fattening... xD

I think my heart is like DEAR GOD BOY, you are eating so unhealthy this week! lol, but whatevs, when you hang with the dudes you eat dude food, which isn't usually too healthy ;)

So yeah, we went on the train and headed out for somewhere where they had anime and the like. (Idr where, but one of the places we went today was called Shibuya, one was called Shinjuku, and the other... the first.. had a N in its name, idr what it was called though.
I'll figure it out later and fix this post to reflect it :>)

Well anyway, we went out and Jeff led us to a secret anime and figures, plushies, collectibles, things, store area mall thingy.
It was really cool! :D

[Above: Some cool stores I went in to get the manga I wanted :D]

There was at least two floors of various shops selling all sorts of cool and interesting stuff, and one even was selling a rare or collectors item Duffy that was grey!

It was 250 usd though! @o@!

Well, Jeff and I spent a loong time shopping, so long that the other guys went down without us while we plowed onwards lol.

But after Jeff got done looking at his Idol stuff and I got done looking at manga, games, and anime, we went down and got lunch.
(also it is worth noting, humorously, that we used our wifi hotspot sim card thingy to find the others when we went down to find them, chasing the signal to see when it increased in strength. :P xD)

[My meal! It was delicious! The broth was amazing! :D]

[The guys all lined up with their respective ramen orders in the little 'hole in the wall' restaurant]

[Needless to say, there wasn nothing left when we were done! XD]

[The ramen restaurant we had lunch at]

Interestingly, the way you order ramen is by paying a machine that prints you a ticket or receipt that you give to the cooks.
After lunch we went out and about exploring and shopping and the like.
(iirc, really tired atm lol (its 1:41 a.m. right now as I write this XD)

We found some large store with many levels, in which Jeff showed me some bargain cd's for 1 usd each, and in which I found some manga like things I was looking for :P

The store even had some weird Japan only nds thingy:

After that we did more shopping, and looking around.
We entered a sports store for the aircon, due to the intense heat and humidity of the day, and looked at the soccer things that were being sold there.

We also found a dollar store (105 Yen store), where I got some souvenirs for my two dogs and some other smmall things I wanted.

I don't quite remember the chronology of how things happened or when or where we went on the metro, but eventually we found some street with black guys hawking things, crepe stands all over the place, and basically nothing that interested us aside from the crepes xD

[Donald enjoying the ice cream crepe he ordered. (actually, they all had ice cream of some flavor on them)]

Surprisingly, I suggested we get crepes and then ordered ice cream O-O lol

After that we walked back to the mtr and headed in search of a restaurant in our guidebook.
When we finally found the place, after going to a ton of wrong places in the opposite direction, wew realized that the restaurant was closed down XD

So we settled on sushi for dinner.
Now I know what you are thinking, that I don't like sushi...
And that is true.
That is why I only got two plates of smoked salmon XD

But it was good and this was all that was left:

After dinner we wandered around in search of the sky view, which we found out half way there was closed -.- (kinda like the closed down restaurant we searched for earlier lol)

After that, we headed home.
However; while we were walking to the MTR we lost Victor! D:!
He just disappeared.
He was right behind us and then poof, he was gone!

Since he had the wifi, we went around looking for where the signal was strongest and hunted for him xD

Eventually, after quite a while, we found him. Turns out he was taking a phone call and was a teeny bit hidden behid some ledge that jutted out from the wall.
But he was safe! *phew*

Then we headed home :)

I got a 6-inch tuna sub with cheese, and surprisingly it was only 420 or 450 Yen :P
Cheap :>
(the cheese was 30 Yen)

Then we headed back to the hotel, Jeff and I discussed pokemon and hacks and all sorts of things, and then we played a game of comedic punishment.

Basically whoever laughed while watching the comedy show got beaten. (err.. spanked not beaten)

And surprisingly I was chosen to beat them o.O
Lolll it was weird.

But I think everyone had fun, and we got to see the comedy people get beaten too.
(thats where the idea comes from, the game show peoples if they laughed got spanked, etc etc)

More like a whack I guess idk, dont ask me xD

But yeah, I started this blog post but couldnt finish it due to being so tired after the game, and I went to bed at 2 a.m. :P

I am actually writing this last bit the morning after, at 9:11 A.M.

OH! and we watched anime last night too, on the TV. (a lil, after the comedy thing)

Donald went downstairs with me to help me get an extra blanket, so that was good too.

All in all I got a lot of souvenirs and had a blast :D
Another great day in Japan! ^.^

Thanks for reading! :>

Love,

~James D.

[Above: Donald tried and ate Whale :O lol, only in Japan xD]

[No littering elephants allowed in Japan? lol]

[Store just for tamagotchi stuff? :o]

[Lol? Paper that helps you rap? xD There were a ton of weird translations in the 105 Y store, such as Gummed Tape ;>]

That's all folks! :)

Japan Grad Trip 2013 Day 3! :D

Hello everyone! :D

So last night I slept on a traditional Japanese bed, due to the fact that there were only four beds in our Milk Land apartment thingy, and I slept quite well :)
Sadly I didn't get a photot of it D:

We were up really late @o@
But anyways, so I awoke at 7:00 a.m. this morning, took a nice shower while standing away from the corner filled with a few giant mosquito like things, and relished the warm water.

I then dressed and got some of my stuff together in preparation for leaving at 10:00 a.m. to head back into Tokyo.

Supposedly we were going to have the snacks I brought for breakfast, since we didn't buy anything for breakfast prior, so I went ahead and divided up my goldfish, cheese pretzels, and chocolate biscuits into little zip lock bags, and put them all into big zippies.
I think it worked out quite wonderfully :D

I wanted to make it so everyone got a fair share, and to make it so if anyone didn't finish their portion they could take it with for later.
Well.. turns out most people weren't too hungry for those things XD

But anyway, I ate my cereal and what was left of my buttery and creamy bakery bread:

Afer packing everything, everyone else slowly came to life.
Jeff showered, and we turned on the TV while we waited for the appointed time our driver would pick us up. ( a long time from then xD, we got everyone up at 8:12)

We watched some pretty weird shows, many children shows, and we watched some kind of animation thing:

Awww, cute huh? :)

Well anyway, Donald and I went out to the store to buy some drinks and stuff. He ended up buying milk, and I decided to get nothing lol.

When we left the store we saw our driver, and so we had him drive down to where our Milk Land housing was.
Then we went in, grabbed all our stuff, peed in preparation for our 3-4 hour drive, and then loaded up the car.
We asked to driver to stop at the store so we could get water, and then we went in and bought our beverages.

Then came the loonngg drive..
Luckily I had stayed up so late that I was able to sleep most of the time, but it was hard to choose to sleep due to the beautiful scenery:

[^ There was even some mysterious Fuji action! :P]

All sorts of interesting surroundings and things along the way.

But yeah, I slept most of the time so idk what I missed xD
Prob not much.
What I do know, is that when I did wake up the driver's music had gone full circle and was looping again.
I was like "OH I know this song, it sounds good! Waaitt... didn't I here this an hour or so ago?"
xD

Well, he dropped us off at our hotel in Tokyo, and we crossed the street and went in to see if we could check in yet.

We were early, so we gave the bell boy dude our luggage and went to the shopping mall attatched to our hotel.
:P

We looked around while waiting for 2 p.m. to come, when we could check into our room, and we saw all these food stores and clothing stores.
Even some CD stores and stationary/general purpose stores.

Oh and when I awoke this morning I blew my nose and it began bleeding D:
And bled again when we reached the hotel @`@

Well anyway, we casme back to the hotel after looking at millions of asian restaurants.
(OH and the classic western ones: McDonalds, Starbucks, and Subway)

We checked in, let them look at all our passports, and then went up to our rooms.

Some how they had messed up whether or not both rooms we signed up for should have individual beds, so Victor and I ended up sharing a room with a queen sized bed instead of two decent sized beds.
The other guys each have their own bed, but I guess Victor and I have more space? xD

Well anyway, we have a better view I think ;)
Maaybee xD

[Our bed with my backpack on it]

[^View from our window]

[^As seen from our window, we walked around and entered into those stores at the top of the picture]

Well, we went ahead and went out to go get lunch, and I don't recall how long it took before we finally ate food... but we went to some grill place and got delicious food :D

[^above, my meal: fried rice, sausage slices, chewy vegetables or something squishy, egg bits, and two grilled pieces of beef.]

Now I don't usually like beef, but this grilled stuff was actually pretty good :D

After lunch, I think we went out to find the stores in the pictures above and to go shopping.
We went into a few anime stores, and even one that was totally a yaoi centric girl-fanservice store, which we left shortly after.

We even found a pepper lunch! XD
(a cuisine that is very popular in Hong Kong fyi)

We found a citibank near the area we were in, so I was able to replenish my funds and whatnot :P

Well, eventually we ended up in clothing stores, saw some cosplay outfits, and spent a good chunk of time looking at sports stores and clothing stores.
(which I found to be very boring lol)

Then we went and got some dinner from a place that seems to specialize only in rice omelet things. (which actually turned out to be very tasty XD)

This is what I got:

Mine had a cheesy like sauce in it, and a tasty meat sauce on the plate it came on.

After dinner we went back out and to the arcades.
I said I wasn't going to do them, as I had said all day when we went into them, as I stated adamantly they were traps and not good for you...

But then I saw a machine begging to be exploited, with toys all over that looked easy to knock down.
Well.. I knocked a crapton down XD

After that it was hard to quit playing :/
Especially when your friends keep going too xD

Jeff and I ran around hunting for crane machines we thought we could win in, and we tag teamed some of them :P
It was very very fun XD

After a long while we realized that we were spiraling out of control, and we stopped our crazy gambling.
I realized I had ended up spending a total of 80 usd!
On crane machines!

I, who had been so worried about spending too much money eariler in the day, spend all that on gambling (technically)?

Yup, and I should have stopped after winning so much initially.

Oh well, this is what I ended up with:

After that we went back to the hotel, and chilled for a while.
And now I am writing this blog post! :P
XD

Oh here are some photos of things..

When we were out and about later the stores were all closed:

The view from my window at night:

Me and some of the guys:

All in all, today was a pretty fun and good day :)
And it was an important lesson my mom reminded me of when I told her of my dealings:
If you choose to gamble, make sure you determine how much you are willing to spend and don't spend more than that.

I should have capped off at 20 usd max, 80 is just ludicrous!
It makes me feel awful to think that I spent that much :/

But at least I can decently average it out with my winnings..
(about 3$ usd per item, a bit pricey but okay I guess..)

All in all, a fun day and lots of good food :)
(although our eating schedules are all weird and irregular, and we keep eating at high colestorol and protein restaurants that are expensive... It is okay, we keep trying all these asian foods :>
So that is good :D)

Well that is it for today!
I tred to make this quick, I am being eaten by mosquitos in the other guys apartment! @.@
And I am very tired @.@
It's 1:20 a.m. here loll

Well anyway, good night! :D
Thanks for reading! :P
Sincerely,

With Love,

~James D.
